UX / UI Design Aura
Project overview
UX/UI DesignRole
As a member of the Aura group project, I worked as a UX Designer and Front-End Developer. My responsibilities included designing the logo for the website, creating wireframes for the Home and iAura pages, and designing the icons used throughout the website and promotional materials. I was also responsible for designing and developing the iAura page.Project Overview
Aura is a platform that allows users to check the Air Quality Index (AQI) of a destination and plan their trips accordingly. The website provides users with important information about air quality, recommended precautions, and a list of essential items to carry based on the environmental conditions at their destination.
If the air quality level at a destination is too high, Aura recommends a more suitable time to travel based on the AQI, helping users make informed decisions and plan their trips safely.Constraints
- Develop a multi-platform software application.
- Integrate appropriate security and cloud services.
Design Approach and Methodology
As part of our design research, we studied our target users to understand their needs, pain points, frustrations, and expectations. We gathered information about the type of environmental and air-quality information users need before planning a trip.
Based on our research findings, we identified key user needs and used these insights to guide the information architecture, user experience, and interface design of the Aura platform.Tools Used

User Persona
We conducted user research and created user personas and journey blueprints to develop a better understanding of our target audience, including their goals, frustrations, and pain points.
Based on our research, we divided our target users into three categories:
Power User
Our power users are frequent travelers who actively check and plan their trips according to the Air Quality Index (AQI) of their destination. They need detailed and timely information to make informed travel decisions.
Regular User
Our regular users are people who are interested in environmental safety and want to contribute to a healthier environment. They are likely to use the platform to stay informed and make more environmentally conscious decisions.
Casual User
Our casual users are people who want regular updates about the AQI but do not necessarily plan their activities around air-quality information. They need quick, simple, and easy-to-understand updates about current air-quality conditions.
User Flow
Through user research, we created user personas and gathered insights into users’ needs, pain points, and frustrations. Based on these insights, we identified the key features and interactions that needed to be incorporated into the user flow.
For this project, I focused on the iAura page, where users can browse and shop for air-quality-related products. I researched the types of products that would be most useful to users and identified the key information they would need when making a purchase decision. This research helped define the product categories, information hierarchy, and interactions within the user flow, creating a simple and intuitive shopping experience.

UI Kit
For this project, I designed the Aura logo and created the icons used throughout the website. To establish a clean, modern, and approachable visual identity, we chose a sans-serif typography system and developed a color palette with royal blue as the dominant color.
Blue was selected because it is commonly associated with trust, friendliness, reliability, and calmness. These qualities align with the purpose of Aura, a platform designed to help people make more environmentally conscious decisions and encourage greater awareness of their surrounding environment.
The overall visual direction was designed to create a friendly and accessible experience while reinforcing Aura’s connection to environmental awareness, safety, and sustainability.
